ok just wanted to add this seems everything got toned down some for pvp which is ok. and spells as well i don't care to much about vamp with their drink what is really pissing me off is the fact i have 153dfire and all nash has to do is dess me and wham 400 hp done in one hit this doesn't seem toned down was also told by nash the following: You reply to Nashira 'so that ups it to dang near 400 hp balefire with me still having 153 pfire'
Nashira tells you, 'bale is based on yer reducts not yer defenses'

With that said this should be looked into i don't see any spell that is not based on reducts just defenses which is stupid. I understand dess ups the dang dam done to a player but come on this spell is worse than drink with hardly any lag at all. Not even stating the fact that i can't hit stab are charge then dang thing just wish the lords would look into this spell. Yes i do know it's an AK but hell that spell is just to dang buff with the new changes . So yeah i'm winying about a buff spell but when i have 153 pfire and still get hit for 300 are 400 dam balefire there is something wrong with this. ok i'm done yeahling about it send the feedback on what yall think about this.

didnt lelant have a post saying he baled nashira for only 40 or something? bale doesnt own everyone and i think more tests have to be done then "he baled me for 400". bale was toned down a while ago and this is the first main complaint about it being too buff again. last i checked it hasnt changed recently and there have been plenty of wzers who had it. and you never mentioned if you were sanced, because dispel/des/bale should do 400. that is all

Wrong thread nirius, and your 33.3 buffer now and you were unkillable to most before.


grin ac change and all, but balfire des still does 400, thats funny

Nod in the clanwar lelant's balefire vs nashira's were 2 completely diffrent attacks, nashria's doing mega damage and lelant complaining about it doing 40. Grin I already posted I think critical attacks would be nice capped but I guess even with all the work put into changing ac reduct, its to soon say so they are done with everything. Players are still very capable of doing massive attacks. Evil or Very Mad




ps, I dont think the issue is xxx did 400 damage, I think the issue is that
he was a victim of a 3 move attack, des(1) balefire(2) balefire(3) less then 10 second to Die and he has just about 800hp.

Hi, ok.

I don't like capping massive attacks. How do you kill people with huge hp then?

Anyway, Lelant's balefire does next to nothing.. not sure why Nashira's does much more. Perhaps dispelling reducts, dessing, then trying solves the modest damage problem. Smile

the problem i see with this spell is the fact it's not based on defenses but reducts
which every spell in the game from what i've seen is based on defenses so why is balefire any diff. with 153 dfire i don't see how i'm getting hit for 400 +dam balefire with just dess i can see atleast 200 dam with dess but hell 400 dam and is not based on defenses is just wrong is all i'm saying.

How consistently do you get baled for 400, some statistics would be nice. And generaly speaking, having terrible reducts plus dess usually = bad things happening to you. I don't see how whether or not you can land a stab or charge is related to this topic.

i dont see the validity of nashira's statement that balefire is based solely on reducts. Because balefire is the most powerful spell (and it should be, it's two elements AK), I could see why reducts would mean more than defelements, but I'm sure defelements do tone down balefire somewhat.

Alejandro, I don't know what reducts you have, but unless you have some substantial data (ie get balefired 25 times and see the average damage you take), there is no reason to seriously look into the issue of balefire. All spells have a huge range in terms of damage, so maybe you got unlucky and ate a max dam balefire. Being dessed doesn't help either.

Also note that balefire is unlike most spells, in that it doesn't roll once for damage. It rolls multiple times and uses the highest roll, which would substantially increase the average damage. Most spells can do big, big damage dispelled/dessed. It's just that balefire likes to do it more often. And it's also two elements and an ak.

I remember the change being implemented (admittedly a long, loooong time ago), and thinking it was pretty spiffy. But nope, no saving of news files.

balefire is supposed to be the 'untimate offence spell' 400damage should be about right, especialy when dessed...

Even though this is most likely too little too late, most finisher-type skills would do more than 400hp to a dessed person, so I dunno why a 400hp balefire is an issue.

As an interesting side note though, it would be kinda nifty if some spells had increased damage (icelance, call lightning, etc), but could 'miss' their target, like magic missile does! Razz As an added side benefit, it would take some of the uberness out of clantown rechargebuy.

The only reason MM misses is if the damage is reduced to < 1. No damage spell misses outright.

There have been plans that have not developed into a good design to have spell synergy. Just hasn't been time to do this. Sad
