Here is a list of races with descriptions:
HUMAN
Obviously, Humans are the most plentiful race in the Land of Manetheren,
and being the greatest in number, they are also by and large the most
powerful as a group. Humans can be of any size, class, religion or demeanor.
ELF
The elves in Manetheren can basically be divided into two distinct
groups : Those that follow the Path of the Light (High Elves) and
those that walk in the shadow (the Drow). Elves seem to be born
with a stronger connection to magical power and as individuals, the
Elves are very agile both in actions and thought. Elves have natural
skill in infravision and archery.
ARACOIX
Little is known about the Aracoix, the strange race of half man/
half bird warriors that live in the mountains to the east of town.
While uncomfortable with the human tongue, their twelve foot wing
span make them the undeniable masters of the air. Aracoix seem to
have an aversion to the use of magic and to date no record of a
spell casting aracoix has been found. Strikingly alien in
appearance, Aracoix are noted for their spectacular agility.
SHADE
While loosely defined as a 'race,' the growing presence of Shades
in Manetheren as of late makes them hard to ignore. Shades, also
known as 'Gray Men,' seem to share only a single trait : insatiable
blood thirst; the obsessive need to destroy the living. Aside from
this fact, almost nothing is known about them because of their
reclusive behavour and frightening appearance. Shades seem to have
a latent ability not to be observed by their victims and are
believed to have been introduced to the realm by the direct
manipulation of Chaos Magic. Shades have been noted for being
highly intelligent and deadly quick in reaction and agility.
DWARF
With a dwarven settlement just to the west of Manetheren, dwarves are
often seen trading and adventuring in the Main City area. Dwarves
are a stocky and hardy people, but tend to shun spellcasting magic
users. They are, however, known for their clerical abilities.
MINOTAUR
Horned and massive, this race of half-man, half-bull beings
were until recently too beligerent to mix with any races other
than their own. The Minotaur are a savage, warlike race. Weak
professions such as spell casters, and thieves are looked down
on by these people.
OGIER
Ogier are a race of gentle giants. Soft spoken and highly intelligent, their
slow peaceful methods appear almost lethargic to all races with the exception
of the elven people. Ogier have a mysterious relationship with the natural
world and are rarely found outside their forest Steddings. Despite their calm
appearance, the simple size and strength of the Ogier make them formidable
warriors.
HALF-GIANT
No one can deny the formidability of Half Giants as warriors.
Their enormous girth and bulk make them especially well suited
for smashing things and for making other creatures bleed. This
is fortunate, for this is how Half Giants tend to spend the
majority of their time.
